Art+History has partnered with the Providence Preservation Society to offer a free tour for 4th-6th grade students of the exhibit and the Nightingale Brown House.
The site visit and the pre- and post-visit materials focus on three core concepts:
- Places inspire people. Artists, writers and historians can interpret the same historic place or event differently.
- Objects, such as artworks or decorative objects, tell us about the people who made them.
- You too can be creatively inspired by special places!
All activities and materials are aligned to Rhode Island Grade Level Expectations and New England Common Assessment Program standards.
- Learn more about one class’s visit here!
Mondays and Thursdays, April 6—May 14; 12 pm. 70 minutes. Limited to 30 students.
To book a visit, contact Kathleen McAreavey, the Education Coordinator at the Providence Preservation Society, kmcareavey@ppsri.org or 401-831-7440 ext. 103.
