Full Art+History: Place Explorations Curriculum Now Available

Check out the Educator Resources portion of the website to preview the full curriculum of pre- and post-visit materials for the program Art+History: Place Explorations.

In Place Explorations 4th-6th graders tour the exhibit and the Nightingale Brown House to learn about the practice of site-specific art-making and creative inspiration.  The program focuses on three core concepts:

  • Artists, writers and historians can interpret the same historical place or event differently.
  • Objects, such as artworks or decorative furniture, tell us about the people who made them.
  • You too can be creatively inspired by special places!

This free program is offered in collaboration with our partners, the Providence Preservation Society.  All activities and materials are aligned to Rhode Island’s Grade Level Expectations and the New England Common Assessments Program standards.
